Holding things lightly with Silvie

Dave Hill Episode 29

I'd love your feedback, send me a message

Neil “Silvie” Silvester was a Lance Corporal of mine in The First Battalion the Royal Green Jackets in 2001 and we have been friends ever since.  Silvie’s been a Policeman and worked in a variety of places from pubs to factories and from a shooting school to warehouses.  After an accident at work he even took himself back to college to study art.

In this conversation we discuss the journey he’s had with his mental health: from believing there was something missing, something wrong with him; to realising he could hold it all more lightly and let those feelings pass rather than chasing them down.  As ever, the most exciting part is him seeing that potential in others and that he can serve people, wherever they are, by listening without judgement.
